Eligibility/Qualification:
Applicants should hold a British first or second class honours degree or an equivalent qualification in a related discipline, such as Plant sciences, crop sciences, genetics or a more general biological background with an interest in molecular genetics and plant breeding.

Job description:
The selected candidate will conduct research to identify and manipulate key genes and pathways that confer salt tolerance in pulses using advanced molecular genetic techniques, CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing and Agrobacterium-mediated transformation methods. The research aims to genetically improve the resilience and yield of pulses under saline conditions and test their performance under controlled greenhouse conditions.
