We clear landmines and unexploded ordnance to free up safe and productive land for people, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by helping governments to manage weapons and ammunition safely. In 1997, MAG was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for our work in fighting for the Anti-Personnel Mine Convention.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team working hard to save lives in one of the world’s youngest countries. You will provide leadership and management of grant management and donor outreach in our South Sudan program. You will coordinate and submit well-researched, high-quality concept notes, proposals and donor reports in collaboration with our program team. You will work with the Country Director to pursue funding opportunities through donor outreach, partnerships and networking. You will also be a central point of contact for information management in the program, develop and support the implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) tools and ensure ongoing capacity building of our colleagues’ skills.

About you

You are an excellent communicator with a degree in international relations or other relevant subject or equivalent experience. You have experience in grants management, donor outreach and monitoring, accountability and learning (MEAL), ideally within an international NGO. You have good writing skills and experience using these skills to develop proposals. You have experience living and working in humanitarian programs. Areas of operation are often remote and lack basic amenities, so you must be able to live and work in challenging environments.

About the South Sudan Programme

South Sudan is one of the youngest, poorest and least developed countries in the world. The outbreak of hostilities in 2013 has resulted in thousands of people killed or injured and hundreds of thousands displaced by the violence. MAG has been working in South Sudan since 2004 to clear landmines/unexploded ordnance and educate vulnerable populations about the dangers of mines.
