Nominations Called: The Queen’s Knickers Award (UK & Ireland)

This annual award recognizes outstanding original children’s picture books for ages 0-7.

Award information

• The winner will receive £5,000 and a golden Queen’s Knickers badge as depicted in Nicholas Allan’s original story.
• The runner-up will receive £1,000 and a silver badge.

Eligibility Criteria

• The prize will be awarded to the author(s) whose name appears on the title page and who is a real person.

Application Requirements

• The work must be a single volume containing illustrations in book format. It can be imaginary or factual, such as a bill.
• Artwork may be a combination of words and/or pictures, or simply pictures (in any physical format, including pop-ups, flap books, and board books).
• Submissions that are available only in electronic format, are self-published, or for which the author has contributed or paid publication costs will not be accepted.
• Submissions must be made to the print publisher.
• All submissions must be by the author and cannot include the use of AI-generated works.
