Do not include the .NET version in your image. (.NET 8 and above are not included in the image). Therefore, if you previously used an Azure Marketplace image to include the .NET 6 runtime, you will now need to handle .NET deployment yourself. November 12thDay .NET 6 will be released in 2024. End of support. However, based on customer feedback, we have decided to give customers more time to process .NET 8 runtime deployments and upgrade to .NET 8. Microsoft will provide security updates for .NET 6 in Azure Marketplace media images after the official shutdown. The application date is an additional six months until May 13, 2025. This only applies to Azure Marketplace media for Windows Server 2022. .NET 6 will be removed from all Azure Marketplace Windows Server 2022 media on May 13th.Day2025.
