Lecturer in Organic Chemistry: The School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering (CCE) at Queen’s University Belfast is seeking a highly qualified individual to join the team as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Organic Chemistry. This role will involve teaching basic and advanced organic chemistry at a range of academic levels and conducting independent high-level research in the field.

  • Designation: Senior Lecturer in Organic Chemistry
  • Research area: Candidates with a focus on reaction methodology or digital chemistry are particularly sought after, but suitable candidates from all research areas will be considered.

  • Eligibility/Qualification:
  • An honours degree in chemistry or a closely related subject.
  • A PhD in Organic chemistry or a related subject.
  • Postdoc or industry experience appropriate to the position of lecturer/senior lecturer.
  • For lecturers: Sustained contribution to research activities, acquisition of significant external funding, successful supervision of doctoral students and extensive teaching experience at university level.
  • Job description: The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching basic and advanced organic chemistry at undergraduate, graduate and PhD levels. This includes not only theoretical aspects but also practical organic chemistry. In addition, he or she will be expected to conduct independent research to expand and strengthen the research of the faculty.
