Postdoc position at the University of Strasbourg: A postdoctoral position funded by Idex Attractivité France 2023 is available at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Strasbourg in the “Chemistry of Photosensitive Systems” group (CNRS UMR 7199). The research focuses on fluorescence, organic chemistry, chemical biology and bioimaging.

Eligibility/Qualification:

• Highly motivated candidate with extensive experience in multistep synthesis and analysis (NMR, mass spectrometry).
• Experience in fluorescence, photochemistry, photophysics or bioimaging is an advantage but not required.
• The defense of the thesis must not have taken place more than two years ago.
• Interdisciplinary training and publication opportunities are offered.

Job description:
The project, titled “DirEctEd Photooxidation (DEEP), a universal approach to developing fluorescent phototransformable materials”, aims to demonstrate the universality of the DEEP mechanism for different fluorophores and materials. The candidate will synthesize several photomodulatable fluorescent probes to deepen the understanding of the mechanism through structure/property relationship studies, which will ultimately lead to high-performance photomodulatable systems for advanced bioimaging.
