Now let’s go through the steps that will help you create and host your personal portfolio using GitHub Pages. The method I’ll share here is beginner-friendly, so you don’t need any prior coding experience to follow along. A Step-by-Step Guide to Hosting Your Portfolio Using GitHub Pages Step 1: Create a GitHub account To get started, you’ll need a GitHub account. If you already have an account, you can skip this step. If you don’t have an account, follow these instructions. Visit GitHub Sign up using your email address. Complete your profile by following the simple setup instructions provided. Step 2: Create a new repository After logging in to GitHub, click: “+” Click the button on the top right of the screen and select “New storage”. Specify the repository name as follows: your-username.github.io (replace Your username (your actual GitHub username). This is important because GitHub recognizes this specific naming format to host your portfolio. Make sure the repository is set up. Public And check the checkbox “Add README file”. Click here for the last time “Create repository” To set up. Step 3: Customize your README (portfolio content) that README.md Files are where you place the content of your portfolio. GitHub Pages uses: Price reduction Using a language that structures your content makes it easy to format your text. Go to the repository you just created and click Next. README.md file. After writing your content, click “Apply Changes” to save it. Step 4: Enable GitHub Pages Next, you’ll need to enable GitHub Pages to host your portfolio. Click in the repository setting uppermost.
