Meet a recent Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador graduate Aaryan Arora

This is the next segment in a blog series highlighting Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors who have achieved the Gold milestone, the highest level they can achieve, and have recently graduated from college. Each blog in this series will feature a different student and highlight their accomplishments, their experiences in the Student Ambassador community, and what they have been up to.

Today we meet Aryan, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

What is it like to be a student ambassador?

Becoming a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It has provided me with a platform to share my passion for technology and empower others to develop their skills. Through the MLSA program, I have had the opportunity to host over 18 events aimed at making cutting edge technologies accessible and understandable to diverse communities.

From organizing Global Azure Bootcamps with ambassadors from various countries to hosting Cloud Skills Challenges and AI Gaming Tournaments, I have not only enhanced my knowledge but also helped others embark on their learning journey. Working with a global network of students and professionals has broadened my perspective and strengthened my commitment to community building.

As an ambassador, I learned the importance of leadership, communication, and teamwork. The satisfaction of seeing participants grow and succeed in their endeavors was the most rewarding aspect of this journey. The MLSA program allowed me to contribute to the tech community in a meaningful way, and pushed me to continue learning and exploring new technologies.

Was there a particular experience that had a profound impact on you while you were participating in the program? And why?

One of the most impactful experiences I had in the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program was the opportunity to mentor other Ambassadors on social impact projects. It was not just about sharing what I knew, but also connecting with others who shared the same passion. Those mentoring moments led to lasting friendships with people from all over the world, and that sense of community and teamwork has been a huge part of my journey.

I also had the opportunity to speak with Lee Stott from the MLSA program. His advice was incredibly helpful in figuring out what I wanted to do after graduation and gave me a lot of clarity about my career path. The program was not just about learning new skills, but also about growing as a person, networking, and figuring out how to make a real impact. Looking back, the opportunity to grow and network with people from all over the world was one of the best parts of the experience.

Tell me about the skills you gained as a student ambassador. How did these skills help you in your journey after graduating from college?

One of the most important projects I’ve worked on was integrating Power Apps with Azure Machine Learning and OpenAI using Power Automate. The project was to create a health cost planner application that leverages machine learning models to predict health costs based on a variety of parameters. Users could input data such as age, BMI, and smoking status to receive personalized predictions and savings plans tailored to their needs. This project has already resulted in a blog post with over 13,000 views, multiple demo calls, and invitations to Microsoft Reactor and MVP events.

What would you like to tell students around the world about the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program?

I want to let students around the world know that the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program is not just a technology community, but a platform for growth, learning, and real impact. As an Ambassador, you will not only have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of cutting-edge technologies, but more importantly, you will be able to share that knowledge with others. You will host events, collaborate with students and professionals from around the world, and gain valuable experience in leadership and communication.

This program not only helps you advance your career, but also uplifts your peers by creating opportunities for them to learn and succeed. Whether you are passionate about coding, cloud computing, or community building, the MLSA program provides the tools and global network to make your ideas a reality. It is an incredible personal and professional development journey that I believe every student should experience.

What advice would you give to new student ambassadors just starting out in the program?

My advice to new student ambassadors is to dive in with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Start by exploring the resources and tools available through the program. There is a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips. Don’t be afraid to host an event, even if you feel nervous at first. It’s a great way to build your confidence and skills. Most importantly, connect with your fellow ambassadors and the wider community. Collaboration is key, and you can achieve a lot by working with others. This program is what you make of it, so make the most of every opportunity!

“People live their lives bound by what they accept as truth. That is how they define ‘reality’.” This quote from Itachi from Naruto has had a huge impact on my understanding of the world. It taught me that there is no one right answer and that we must be open and willing to explore and understand the many different things around us.
