Hello, Insiders! I’m Isabela Dominguez, a Product Manager on the Office team. You probably already know about the Loop component in Teams and Outlook on the web. I’m excited to share that you can now collaborate with the Loop component in Outlook for Windows and the web!

Loop component

Have you ever wanted to quickly collect everyone’s ideas, status updates, or questions in an email without having to go back and forth between Outlook and other apps? With the Loop component, you can edit content with others and see the changes right in your email. Gather all the relevant information in one place and watch people edit and comment live.

You can insert different types of components, such as a task list to track project status or a voting table to collect ideas from your team. The Loop component meets you where you are. It’s accessible and editable in Teams and Outlook (and soon Word!), so you can collaborate freely no matter which app you use.

How it works

  1. To add a loop component to your message, select: Message > Loop ComponentClick and then select the desired component from the drop-down list.

Scenarios to try

  • Track your project status Includes a task list loop component – You can assign tasks and due dates to people to set clear expectations for each contributor. The loop component allows you to track status in real time and always have the latest information at your fingertips.
  • Allow everyone to gather knowledge using the Q&A loop component – You can ask a question and have everyone on your team answer in real time. For example, you may have a question about an upcoming meeting or presentation. The Q&A component makes it easy for your team to gather and share information, giving others the opportunity to answer and ask more questions.
