Each month, we highlight new features and enhancements to keep Microsoft 365 admins up to date with Copilot features that help them be more productive and efficient in the apps they use every day. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new this month. Management and Management Features: End-user features: Check the web search terms in the citation section of your Copilot response. To help users understand which search queries were used to enhance the Copilot response, the exact web search query derived from the user prompt is displayed in the Linked Citations section of the Copilot response. Bing web search query citations provide users with valuable feedback on exactly how prompts are used to generate web queries that are sent to Bing searches. This transparency helps us provide users with the information they need to improve prompts and use Copilot more effectively. This feature Released in November. Expanded controls for managing web browsing in Copilot When you allow Copilot to reference web content through web searches, the Bing search service improves the quality of Copilot responses based on up-to-date information from around the web. To give IT admins more ways to manage web browsing in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot, we’re introducing the Allow web browsing feature in Copilot policies. This new control provides the ability to manage web browsing separately from other optional connection experiences to Microsoft 365. It also supports web grounding turned off in the Tasks tab while allowing web grounding to remain in the Web tab. Both the Allow web browsing policy feature in Copilot and the optional connected experience policy can be managed at the user and group level in the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center. This feature will be released in November. Additional languages supported by Microsoft 365 Copilot We’ve added 12 languages to the list of currently supported Copilot prompts and responses: Bulgarian, Croatian, Estonian, Greek, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Serbian (Latin), Slovak, Slovenian, and Vietnamese. Microsoft 365 Copilot now supports a total of 42 languages. These additional languages Released in October. In early October, we also introduced support for Welsh and Catalan. Additionally, Indonesian and Serbian language launches began in mid-October and will be available to all customers by early November. Finally, users working in Serbian will see Teams meeting history in Cyrillic script rather than Latin script until the issue is resolved. We are always improving and improving Copilot’s language features. We’ll also continue to expand the list of supported languages in the coming months. Copilot Lab’s new collection of industry prompts A new collection of industry-specific prompts is coming to Copilot Lab! These collections provide users with custom prompts tailored to their specific tasks in the sustainability, consumer goods, non-profit, mobility and retail sectors. These prompts are designed to help users solve industry-specific problems and improve their workflow. This is scheduled to be released in November. Below are some example prompts that users will find in these new collections. sustainability: “What is the best way for a company to analyze its emissions data and identify potential strategies to reduce its overall carbon footprint?” consumer goods: “Draft an email informing channel partners of the new planogram and expiration dates for food and beverages.” non-profit: “Creating a Major Donor Profile Template” liquidity: “Create a table highlighting the important differences in rules and regulations when traveling between California and Washington in a Class 7 vehicle. Include all intermediate states.” sleeve: “Create training templates for employee training. [upselling items during customer conversations]” Copilot Lab’s prompt cards highlight new industry prompts. Extended file summarization with Copilot in Loop With Copilot in Loop, users can now attach a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file or loop page to a prompt. Users can then give commands to the file, such as summarizing or extracting key points. Copilot reviews the file to provide context and the response is displayed directly on the loop page. This feature was released in October. Add a Word document to Loop’s Copilot prompt. Prepare for meetings using Copilot in Outlook With Copilot, users can now prepare for their next meeting in minutes. If a user has a meeting scheduled, Copilot proactively displays a “Get Ready” button at the top of their inbox. This allows users to create meeting agenda summaries and display and summarize related files to quickly gain insight into the meeting. This feature Released in December In Outlook on the web and new. Video showing the Prepare button and creating notes and document summaries Improved rewrites and tables with Copilot in Word When users select text in a Word document and then select Copilot, they now have more options to fine-tune the text, including automatic rewriting, receiving coaching, visualizing it as a table, or adding their own prompts. This feature is now available on web, desktop, and Mac. gif – Select some section of the document, then ask Copilot what you want it to say. The popular Copilot feature in Word is the ability to select text and create a table. Now users can go one step further with additional support for formatting, including font styles and cell styles. The feature launched on the web in October. Solve Complex Problems – Solve and Review Code in BizChat Copilot can now handle complex tasks when users write prompts in natural language, making it easier for them to solve math problems, analyze data, and create visualizations. Additionally, users can now review the Python code generated by Copilot to gain a better understanding of the output. You can also copy the code by clicking the > Code button and pasting it wherever you want. This feature has been launched Released in October.
