We’re excited to announce new Microsoft Graph connector features and enhancements to support Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility. The Microsoft Graph connector allows you to bring external content into Microsoft Graph and access it alongside Microsoft 365 data (such as Word documents, SharePoint content, PowerPoint decks, Teams chats, and more) across a variety of Microsoft 365 environments, including Microsoft 365 Copilot.

The updates detailed below are intended to give users more flexibility, control, and efficiency in managing their data. Imagine having easy access to more valuable enterprise systems. This is a powerful feature of the Microsoft Graph connector that enhances the knowledge available to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot agents.

Customize Microsoft 365 Copilot using the Copilot agent

Agents are AI assistants designed to work with or for humans to automate and execute business processes. It offers a variety of functions, from simple and immediately responsive agents. Agents that replace repetitive tasks are transformed into more advanced, fully autonomous agents. Copilot agents allow you to do this by applying the agent’s powerful capabilities directly to your workflow.

Use the Microsoft Graph connector to index external data into Microsoft Graph, building on relevant knowledge specific to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot agents. Learn more about the latest. Announcing Microsoft 365 Copilot Wave 2.

New Microsoft Graph connector

We’re excited to hear your feedback and deliver the new Graph connector. On-premise Confluence and SharePoint Server. You can now index Confluence pages, blogs, wikis, SharePoint documents, and web pages from your data center or server instance. These additional features give businesses more options to connect existing data sources to Microsoft 365, improving overall productivity and collaboration. Find out more in our documentation.

We’re also excited to announce that graph connectors for more data sources are available in preview. To sign up for a preview of these new Graph connectors and other new features, complete the following: this form. If Graph Connector is not yet available for your preferred data source, share your feedback and request development via: this form.

Quick setup experience for the Graph connector

We are announcing the release of a new quick setup experience for select Microsoft Graph connectors that reduces setup time from hours to minutes. This new experience is available in ServiceNow Knowledge, Confluence Cloud, Confluence On-Premise, and Jira Cloud. Find out more in our documentation.

Graph Connector SDK support for improved indexing in Microsoft 365 Copilot

We’ve improved the Graph Connector SDK to take full advantage of Microsoft 365 Copilot features for improved indexing when building custom graph connectors. With this update, if a connection has “Title” and “Url” as labels and the connection’s schema property is marked as “IsContent”, the item content is vectorized from the index.

please refer to this: Indexed item content will not be vectorized if the body of the item content does not have chunks of text to vectorize, or if the item consists only of sparse metadata fields. Find out more in our documentation.

Salesforce data source filters

We plan to introduce new features to the Microsoft Graph connector for Salesforce by the end of September 2024. Businesses can have more control over the data integrated into their Microsoft 365 tenant by excluding items that do not need to be indexed. This feature reduces confusion and improves overall efficiency by ensuring only relevant information is included. Find out more in our documentation.

Scenario improvements in Microsoft 365 Copilot

We’ve made several improvements to enhance the Graph connector functionality in Microsoft 365 Copilot.

  1. Administrators can now improve Graph connector intent detection by adding rich connector descriptions. Find out more in our documentation.
  2. Users can now use natural language prompts to filter data based on common properties (semantic labels) of graph connectors.
    1. Example: A user can find a ServiceNow ticket using “Show me a ticket that John created yesterday that doesn’t work for the webpage.”
  3. Users can now leverage the connection name in the Copilot prompt to improve intent detection.
    1. Example: In an organization that has a repository called “InsightVault,” users can find information in Copilot using the prompt “Show me past research on customer behavior from InsightVault.”

Entra authentication support for SharePoint (CSV) and Azure DevOps (ADO) connectors

We are migrating our OAuth servers for the ADO WorkItem Connector, ADO Wiki Connector, and SharePoint (CSV) Connector to use Microsoft Entra OAuth. This migration does not require any action on your part, but we recommend that you upgrade your OAuth provider to Microsoft Entra.

Currently, Azure DevOps uses OAuth2 authentication codes and ADO app registrations, while SharePoint (CSV) uses OAuth2 client credentials and SharePoint app registrations. Learn more in the following articles: ADO Work Item Connector, ADO Wiki Connectorand CSV connector.

Improve observability and simplify troubleshooting with ‘Index Browser’

Administrators can now check if content is indexed and review related properties and permissions, including user access to specific content, through the ‘Index Browser’. This feature can be accessed by clicking on an individual connection in the Discovery and Intelligence portal within the Microsoft 365 admin center. This can be used while testing, validating, and troubleshooting discovery issues.

If users report having difficulty accessing an item, this tool can help ensure that your content is indexed correctly and contains relevant data. Learn more in the following articles: index browser.
