Use Coaching with Copilot suggestions on how to improve your content in Word

Coaching with Copilot is a new Copilot feature in Word that helps you review your content for improvements beyond grammar and spelling. Clarifies your ideas and offers suggestions for additions, organization, a good tone for your audience, etc. Coaching with Copilot will help you review and rewrite your content to more clearly and effectively engage your audience and give you confidence that your writing reflects your best work.

You control what changes you make, and your suggestions are separate from your content and won’t overwrite anything.

You can get feedback quickly and easily, and choose whether Copilot will review the entire document or just highlighted sections. I wrote a strong explanation, but it feels like something is missing. You can highlight and select the description.Get Coaching. Once you’ve received suggestions to add a call to action, you can decide if it’s the best fit for your audience.

How it works

tips and tricks

Copy and paste suggestions from Coaching into the Copilot draft prompt with the same selected text and see how Copilot helps you apply these suggestions to your document. Currently we don’t have the ability to apply these suggestions directly from the coaching dialog, but that’s coming soon!

memo:This feature is not generally available yet. It’s being rolled out in early preview to select customers with Microsoft 365 Copilot or Copilot Pro licenses. Currently, it is only available in Word for the web if you live in the United States, select English as your UI, and select English document content. This may change as we continue to make improvements.
