Themes in Outlook for Mac

Hello, Insiders! I’m Sabareesh Nikhil Chinta, a Program Manager on the Outlook for Mac team. I’m excited to announce Themes, a feature that lets you customize your workspace and add a little personality to the new Outlook for Mac!

Themes in Outlook for Mac

Themes allow you to enhance your Outlook for Mac experience by changing the color scheme of the app to one of six preset theme colors. They can also be used to improve visibility, address accessibility needs, or simply beautify the user interface to suit your needs and interests. Themes can be applied in both light and dark modes, and can be applied when using high-contrast system settings.

Oh, and this is just the beginning! We are constantly working on improvements, like offering new colors and cause-based themes, so your feedback is welcome and appreciated. We will use it to guide our investments.

How it works

To activate and change the app theme, follow the steps below:

1. Choose field of vision > Preferences > general.
2. at figure Select a section light , dark or system (The latter allows Outlook to reflect your system default settings).
3. at subject Click on the theme you want in the section.
4. To enable or disable window transparency, select or deselect: Enable window transparency Check box.
5. As you modify the settings, check the impact of your changes and close the update when you are satisfied. general window.

Known Issues

The following app components do not yet support themes:

• @Mention in the reading pane
• that rule Dialog box
• Find a room in the full event creation window

effectiveness

This feature is available to Beta Channel users using Version 16.51 (Build 21060600) or later.

We usually release features over a period of time to make sure everything is working smoothly. This also applies to Insiders. Since we release slowly to a larger number of Insiders, we highlight features that you may not have. Likewise, we sometimes remove elements to improve things. In rare cases, we also have the option to completely remove a feature from the product.
