Topics in Viva Engage help categorize conversations, making it easy to find and follow discussions on specific topics. Anyone can add topics to their posts, which are marked as tags, and these topics can be followed for updates that connect everyone with what interests them most. ‘Topic Subscriptions’ is a new feature available to all Viva Engage users that allows users to receive notifications for Viva Engage topics they follow. Users will receive an Engage bell notification whenever a new post is tagged in a topic they are subscribed to or when that topic is added to an existing post. memo: Subscribing to a topic is an additional step to following a topic. When a user follows a topic, they do not receive notifications, but they can still receive content about that topic in the Engage Digest. However, when they subscribe to a topic, they will receive notifications about that topic. How to make the most of your topic subscriptions Topics can help organizations easily categorize information and keep employees up to date. Here’s how to help your organization get the most out of topic subscriptions: As an expert in your field, you can get your questions answered quickly by subscribing to topics in your area of expertise and encouraging others to post using those topics. Corporate communicators can track the topics that matter most to campaigns, leadership, and strategic messaging. Encourage employees to subscribe to work-related topics or interests, such as company events, employee resource groups, learning opportunities, or social gatherings. Shows how to use topics across different teams and functions to share insights, articles, and reports on industry trends. Employees interested in staying ahead of their game can subscribe to these topics to stay informed. Where can users subscribe to topics? Topic Page: All Viva Engage users can subscribe to topics from the topic page. This page is accessible from the Viva Engage search engine results page (SERP) and is accessible when a user clicks on a topic tag in Engage. Explore more topic pages: Premium Viva Engage users can subscribe to topics from the Find More Topics page in the Answers tab. Look for the “Find More Topics” link in the right rail at the bottom of the Topics to Follow section. memo: After following a topic, users can subscribe to that topic. Unsubscribe from topic page To unsubscribe, click the blue bell to unsubscribe. It will then change to an unfilled bell icon, indicating that you are no longer subscribed to that topic. memo: Users can unfollow topics from the overflow menu, which will automatically unsubscribe them. Topic Subscription Notifications Today, users receive notifications about topics they subscribe to in Viva Engage. In the future, they will receive notifications in Teams and Outlook.
