Previously, Booking allowed you to send SMS text notifications to people who had booked an appointment. An SMS notification was sent when an attendee booked an appointment through the published booking page. We are pleased to announce SMS notifications for appointments booked by staff. Whenever a reservation manager/scheduler/staff member creates an appointment from a reservation through the scheduling experience, an SMS confirmation and notification is sent to the attendee. Requirements for sending SMS notifications SMS is a premium feature available as part of: Team Premium License. Therefore, SMS notifications will only be sent if the assigned employee has an active Teams Premium license. Note: Attendees, customers or partners will need a valid US, Canadian or UK phone number to receive SMS notifications. How to get started? If SMS is enabled in your tenant, this feature will be available to all users once it is released. Note: SMS notifications are not supported for group appointments. How to turn off SMS? (for organization administrators) Administrators can turn off SMS in their organization by following the steps in the following article: Manage granular control over shared reservations | microsoft run) Go to Microsoft 365 admin center -> Organization Settings -> Scheduling.
