The pace of modern work is fast, and digital workspaces naturally accelerate the speed at which work gets done. As we continue to develop SharePoint innovations, we are constantly striving to find and build efficiencies for our customers. This includes simplifying the process of signing and sharing business-critical documents while maintaining enterprise-grade security and compliance.

This feature allows you to seamlessly request, sign, and store signed documents within your workflow, ensuring document security and compliance. Our ongoing innovation in SharePoint electronic signatures is focused on improving efficiency, saving time and money, and ensuring security and compliance for both your organization and your partners.

We’re excited to share the next update to SharePoint electronic signatures.

Extends electronic signatures to Canada and the UK

When we first launched SharePoint eSignature, it was only available in the US, but we’re excited to announce that it’s now available in the UK and Canada. It is also scheduled to launch in the rest of Europe and select countries in APAC, targeting November, with global launch scheduled for 2025.

Sequential signature

In addition to rolling out to new markets, eSignature request creators can now specify the order of their signatures. The document is first signed in order by the first recipient and then automatically forwarded to the next recipient for signature. This process continues in the specified order until all recipients have added their signatures. Once everyone has signed, the signed document becomes available to everyone involved. This feature unlocks numerous scenarios that require sequential signing and makes this workflow much more efficient. Sequential signing allows requesters to control the order of signatures in the workflow.

Users do not need to manually download or upload documents to initiate a request or save signed documents to SharePoint for long-term storage.

This Adobe Acrobat Sign and Docusign integration is currently available to customers in the US, UK, and Canada and is scheduled to launch globally in November 2024.
