Eligibility/Qualification:

• Completed academic university degree (Master) in Computer science, materials science, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering or equivalent until the start date
• Knowledge of optimization and machine learning methods, ideally for applications in photonics or materials science
• Excellent knowledge of the English language
• Knowledge of quantum mechanical and classical material theory
• Practical and theoretical experience in the simulation of photonics and electronic devices

Job description:

• Conducting research and supporting teaching activities in the field of Computational Materials and Photonics
• Preparation and implementation of lectures, seminars and exercises
• Support in applying for and managing research projects
• Supervision of Bachelor and Master students
• Data-driven material investigation and method development with a focus on novel 2D monolayers and nanostructures for photonics applications
