SBBS Research Fellowships 2023: Applications for the 2023 SBBS Research Fellowships are open for a structured Ph.D. project focusing on inhibiting oncogenic RAF and RAS signaling through the disruption of protein-protein complexes. The project will be led by Dr. Jens Rauch of Systems Biology Ireland, University College Dublin.

Designation: PhD student

Research area: Inhibition of oncogenic RAF and RAS signaling by disrupting protein-protein complexes

Location: Systems Biology Ireland, University College Dublin, Ireland

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • BSc or MSc in Biomolecular, biomedical sciences or pharmacology with distinction.
  • Applicants from EU/UK only.
  • Experimental experience in molecular cell biology, biochemistry or pharmacology using cancer cell line models.
  • Basic knowledge of drug development or zebrafish models is an advantage.
  • Highly motivated person with excellent communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary research environment.

Job description:

  • In vitro characterization of chemical derivatives.
  • Cell-based characterization of lead compounds in human cancer.
  • In vivo testing of lead compounds using modern zebrafish models.
