Title/Position – Research positions at NIPGR

National Plant Genome Research Institute, New Delhi, India, invites suitable and interested candidates to apply for research positions at NIPGR.

Um- The National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi is an autonomous research institution funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, working on various aspects of plant genomics. The Institute is also setting up the NIPGR Translational Centre at Bulandshahr, UP and the Biotech Science Cluster, NCR, Faridabad, Haryana. The NIPGR invites Indian nationals to apply for the vacant posts on direct placement basis as described below. The post of Consulting Engineer is on contract basis.

03 Master’s degree in Natural Sciences or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized university or equivalent qualification; and four years experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services OR 40 years
Doctorate in Science / Engineering / Technology / Pharmaceutical / MD / MS from a recognized university or equivalent

Job description-

Applications from suitable candidates for purely temporary positions in the “DBTProcessing and Monitoring Unit (PMU) for Emerging Frontiers in Biotechnology Programs of the DBT” at NIPGR are welcome.

The roles and responsibilities of the selected persons are as follows:

  • Project Scientists I and II play a critical role in supporting the Emerging Frontiers in Biotechnology (EFB) Directorate of DBT in coordinating the internal screening committee meetings, technical expert committee meetings, progress review meetings, funding release processes, etc.
  • The Senior Project Officer will assist the EFB Director in coordinating with the lead proposal reviewers in collecting and analyzing financial and other relevant documents, facilitating the evaluation of the proposal and the release of grants.
  • The tasks of Project Staff II include assisting in the preparation of notes, tables and other documents for the grant release application.
  • The Project Assistant is assigned to the PMU to handle multitasking tasks.
  • The areas of responsibility listed above are examples. If necessary, the competent authority can also assign additional work.

The above positions are fully temporary and concurrent with the project. The remuneration for the above positions is as approved in the project and as per DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020. The initial appointment will be for one year or till sustainability of the project, whichever is earlier. It may be reduced/extended based on the performance appraisal of the candidate and at the discretion of the competent authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate for the above post depending on the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts will be done as per Government of India norms. The appointment can be terminated at any time by either side with one month’s notice. Candidates shall have no implicit or explicit right to be considered for a regular post in NIPGR.

Publicity in any form or inducement, political or otherwise, will result in disqualification of the candidate.
