Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Promotion in Chemistry, computer science or a closely related disciplineor equivalent experience in research, industry or commerce
  • Practical experience in generative AI, preferably for chemistry or a related discipline
  • Practical knowledge of modern machine learning methods, ideally for use in the chemical sciences
  • Knowledge of machine learning representations in chemical sciences, such as graph neural networks
  • Proven publication record in machine learning, computational chemistry or a closely related discipline
  • Experience in machine learning algorithms and model development is essential

Job description:
The postholder will have the opportunity to develop and implement novel algorithms in generative AI applicable to large-scale multimodal chemistry data, working with the wider team at Imperial College London and the AIchemy hub across the UK. Responsibilities will include co-developing projects in partnership with experimental and theoretical chemists and machine learning academics in the Chemistry and Computer Science departments. The role is expected to make a significant contribution to the field by collaborating with the deep scientific base of Imperial College London, the University of Liverpool, other UK academics and industry partners.

Successful candidates will benefit from support from the AI ​​Futures Grants, which are designed to help the next generation of AI leaders tackle the costs of moving to the UK, including visa fees, the immigration health levy, and travel and subsistence costs.
