Location: University of Duisburg-Essen, Essen Campus, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed academic university degree in Biology, medicine, bioinformatics, data science or related disciplines
  • Preferably a Ph.D. degree
  • Knowledge of data management with a focus on open source solutions
  • Strong communication skills and a strong interest in research data management
  • Familiarity with tools such as OMERO, eLabFTW, Dataverse, Git and data archiving
  • Excellent English skills
  • Willingness to travel

Job description:

  • Manage research data within the SFB 1430 project with a focus on technical and organizational aspects using various data management tools
  • Providing guidance and support to researchers in data management processes
  • Developing and implementing data management workflows
  • Promoting sustainable data management practices and the transmission of repository data
  • Oversee electronic laboratory notebooks, microscopy data platforms and central data repositories
  • Conducting training, project management, documentation and publications
  • Get involved in the RDM community and the National Research Data Infrastructure
