My name is Primadona and I am a Product Manager on the OneNote team. We’re excited to share that you can now access quick tasks using Copilot directly from the OneNote canvas on Windows. This feature allows you to increase your productivity by enhancing your notes right on the canvas to stay in flow. Be more productive by using Copilot in OneNote for Windows to access quick tasks on canvas. Get things done quickly with Copilot easily in OneNote Taking effective notes or reviewing and editing notes shared with others can be a arduous and time-consuming task. Capturing key points, recording all follow-up actions, and keeping all information consistent and organized can be overwhelming. That’s why we’re introducing quick actions with Copilot directly from the OneNote canvas. Easily access powerful Copilot features directly, rewrite portions of shared notes, summarize content on OneNote pages, and extract tasks – all done more smoothly and efficiently. All it takes is just one click. How it works To rewrite selected text: Highlight text you need help with on the OneNote canvas. Select the Copilot icon.And click please rewrite this From the drop-down menuTo take quick action on selected text, select Rewrite this from the Copilot drop-down menu. The rewritten paragraph appears on the canvas. choose keep it To keep the modified version delete Click the icon to delete it and revert to the previous version. Keep the rewritten text or delete it to revert to the previous version. To summarize a page in OneNote: Place your cursor anywhere on the OneNote page. Select the Copilot icon.And click Page Summary From the drop-down menuSelect Summary Page if you want Copilot to generate a summary of the content for that page. A summary paragraph appears on OneNote’s canvas. choose keep it To keep the modified version delete Click the icon to cancel. Keep or discard the Copilot summary that appears on the page. Scenarios to try At work: Summary of the team’s project updates page Create a task list from emails saved in OneNote Rewrite the original notes you took from your last customer meeting. at home: Rewrite paragraphs of the blog post or social media update you’re drafting in OneNote to make them clearer and more wordy. Create a task list based on your child’s school email text saved in OneNote At school: Create a task list from the original notes you edited while reading or researching. Quickly summarize the notes you took in class. known issues Some user interface terminology (menus and command options) may change while we finalize this feature. As with all artificial intelligence (AI) tools, content generated by Copilot is a draft copy and should always be reviewed for accuracy. The ability to handle multiple selections is coming soon. Requirements You must have a Copilot license to use this feature in OneNote on Windows. Learn more about licensing consumer and enterprise. effectiveness This feature is available to Current Channel (Preview) users running version 2410 (build 18129.20000) or higher. Don’t have it yet?
