Research priorities

• In particular, it has driven priorities within the remit of PSPA members.
  • Awareness of PSP and CBD How can we better inform GPs, primary care physicians and the general public about these conditions?
  • PSP and CBD Diagnosis How can we improve the development of diagnostic tests, speed up the rate at which people are diagnosed, and reduce the incidence of misdiagnosis?
  • Living with PSP and CBD How can we ensure that both patients and caregivers receive the best care in their communities?
  • Prevention and Causes of PSP and CBD How can studying the effects of genetic, dietary, or other environmental factors help identify the cause? And how can this be prevented?
  • What can we do to improve the quality of daily life for PSP and CBD patients, and how can we involve patients in clinical trials?

funds information

• The funds will be awarded to fund a number of small projects worth up to £5,000 each.
• Larger projects up to £10,000 will also be considered.
• Subsidies can last from 1 to 24 months.

• The PSPA Small Research Grant Application Call is an open call based on the PSPA Research Strategy and welcomes projects related to:
  • Prevention and Causes
  • Improved diagnosis, reduced misdiagnosis
  • Drug discovery and targeted treatments for root causes
  • Improved interventions to treat all symptoms in people living with PSP and CBD
  • Patient Participation in Research

Eligibility Criteria

• Small Research Grants welcome all career stages and professionals living in the UK.
