Plan International is an independent children’s rights and humanitarian organization working to ensure children can live lives free from poverty, violence and injustice. Plan actively brings together children, communities and others who share our mission to create positive and lasting change in the lives of children and young people. Plan places a special focus on girls and women, who are most often left behind. Plan has been building strong partnerships for children for more than 80 years and is now active in more than 70 countries. Plan International Jordan was founded in 2016 and offers programs in Azraq refugee camp and host communities.

ROLE PURPOSE

Youth Development Programme (Najahna)

Najahna is a 5-year programme (2022 – 2026) funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) whose aim is to promote the economic empowerment of young people in Jordan. The main objective of the programme is to empower 88,700 Syrian refugees and conflict-affected young people aged 15-25 in Jordan to become economically and socially viable actors in an inclusive, healthy, protective and gender-equitable environment. The programme is implemented by five consortium partners: Plan International (PI), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), the Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS), Includovate and Danish Industry (DI) and is led by Plan International.

Dimensions of the role

SCOPE OF WORK

The volunteer will:

  1. Organize and archive the consortium’s shared folders and files.
  2. Attend some PMU lead meetings and take minutes of these meetings.
  3. Create and process PMU PRs, POs and other operational documents.
  4. Transcribe notes from PMU-led workshops.
  5. Support with data quality checks under the direct supervision of the Data Management Officer.
  6. Support with logistics and troubleshooting requirements at PMU events/workshops.
  7. Support with on-site visits for MERL quality assurance.
  8. If required, support in creating content and documentation for communication.
  9. Support in the planning/implementation of events and conferences.

Child protection, gender equality and inclusion

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies on the protection of children, young people and program participants and on gender equality and inclusion are fully implemented in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy, including the relevant implementation standards and guidelines applicable to their area of ​​responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that staff and partners are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International.

Important relationships

  1. The post holder reports to the PMU technical specialist and works under his supervision.
  2. The job holder supports the entire PMU team.
  3. The job holder will be in contact with Najahna partners at events such as workshops, etc.
  4. The postholder will have limited contact with Najahna participants during field visits as needed.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Excellent communication skills.
  2. Experience with Excel and MS Word.
  3. University graduate or one year of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  4. Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken).

Physical environment
