IIT (BHU) Varanasi invites suitable and interested candidates to apply for the post of Project Research Scientist at IIT-BHU

Around- Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the posts of Project Research Scientist-Ito to work on ICMR funded projects under the supervision of Dr. Ashish Kumar Agrawal, Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India.

Location- Varanasi

Authorization/Qualification–

Essential: Bachelor’s degree with 75% or Master’s degree with 60% in biotechnology/biomedicine/electrical engineering/electronics/computer science/mechanical engineering or related branches of these disciplines. Candidates with desirable knowledge in artificial intelligence and previously completed projects and publications are desired.

Age: The upper age limit is 35 years (5 years concession for female/SC/ST/Handicap candidates) while 3 years is applicable for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer candidates). The age limit can be further reduced for well qualified, experienced and deserving candidates. All other factors being equal, preference will be given to SC/ST candidates as per GOI rules.

Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of coding platforms like Matlab/Rstudio/Python is an advantage but not required. Knowledge of MRI processing and machine learning/deep learning algorithms is an advantage but not required.

Key skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to produce high quality reports. High level of self-motivation, initiative and ability to plan and organize work to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Description-

Indian nationals can apply for the following post under the Indian Council of Medical Research sponsored research project titled “Development of Artificial Intelligence System for Detection of Early Common Neural Biomarkers of ASD and ADHD by Multimodal Neuroanalysis” IIT (BHU) (Ref. No. R&D/SA/ICMR/BME124-25/021588). The post is for a period of three years. The details are as follows:

Job title and number of positions: Project Researcher-1 (non-medical) and 02 positions Last date for applications: Applicants should apply by 09.08.2024

Duration of employment and remuneration: Maximum of 3 years (the remaining 2 years will be borne by the candidate if he/she has enrolled for Ph.D.) and Rs. 56,000/-+18% FIRA per month (5% increase in 3rd year).

Main responsibilities: Under the supervision of the investigator and within existing constraints, you will lead the project work. Visit the collaborator’s laboratory in Bengaluru, interact with scientists and discuss with clinical partners as part of the project. The candidate will mainly work on “MR1 processing and artificial intelligence” under the supervision of Dr. Jac Fredo.
