Research area: RNA biology and cancer

Location: Farmington, Connecticut

Suitability/Qualifications:

  • PhD (or close to completing PhD studies)
  • Strong productivity track record with accepted or in-press first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience in RNA biology and/or cancer research
  • Excellent communication and writing skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of mammalian cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting and microscopy
  • Experience with computer-assisted analysis of sequencing data is an advantage

Job description:
The successful candidate will be part of an established research group led by Dr. Olga Anczuków, focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of splicing factors in normal and cancer cells. Key research goals include defining splicing pathways in cancer, identifying splicing alterations in breast tumors, and exploring potential splicing biomarkers for disease prediction and therapeutic targeting. The research will utilize cutting-edge techniques such as RNA-targeted CRISPR, RNA sequencing, and single-cell approaches using 3D cell culture models and mouse xenografts.
