Location: Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Santiago, Chile

Eligibility/Qualification:

• Doctorate in a relevant field (or degree expected by the start date)
• Proven expertise in the respective research area
• Extensive publication list in peer-reviewed journals
• Knowledge of relevant research methods and instruments
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable but not essential.

Job description:

1. Gender Disparities in Engineering: The research is concerned with examining gender biases in STEM fields with a focus on the maintenance and reproduction of disparities in civil engineering education. Quantitative analysis of administrative and survey data to assess influences on the gender disparities observed in engineering education.
2. Autonomous aerospace systems and AI integration for Earth protection: Research focuses on combining satellite information and UAV data to improve autonomous navigation strategies and data collection for surveillance, disaster relief, and forest monitoring, leveraging deep neural network-based AI techniques.
3. Intersectional study of care mobility: This research examines journeys generated by care activities for the home and family from a gender perspective and takes into account mobility associated with social and economic disadvantage. The analysis includes socioeconomic class and immigration status as influential cutting variables.
