Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Bioengineering, Biology, Physiology, or related fields.
- Preferably experienced in advanced in vitro models, epithelial/endothelial barriers, and organoid differentiation.
- Skills in microfluidics, optical microscopy, and biochemical assays.
- In-depth knowledge of kidney physiology and molecular biology techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive work attitude.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
- Ability to work in a collaborative, international environment.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Develop new cell-culture platforms and tissue models mimicking the kidney microenvironment.
- Use these platforms to culture stem-cell-derived renal cells, creating a functional renal tubular unit.
- Characterize the tubular unit to ensure it accurately replicates kidney tissue functions.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and biologists at ETH Zurich and Novartis AG.
- Work in a highly interactive and interdisciplinary field of preclinical testing and drug development.
