Postdoctoral Position in Kidney Model: Join a collaborative project between the Bio Engineering Laboratory at ETH Zurich’s Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering in Basel and Novartis AG, Switzerland, aimed at developing innovative in vitro kidney models with therapeutic potential. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoc to contribute to groundbreaking research at the intersection of biology, engineering, and pharmaceuticals.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Background in bioengineering, biology, physiology, or related fields
  • Experience with advanced in vitro models, epithelial and/or endothelial transport, and organoid culture
  • Proficiency in microfluidics, optical microscopy, and biochemical assays preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of kidney physiology and pathophysiology
  • Strong communication skills and proactive work attitude
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative international environment

Job Description: The Postdoc will develop novel cell-culture platforms and tissue models to mimic the kidney microenvironment. Responsibilities include culturing stem-cell-derived renal cells to create a renal tubular unit, characterizing the functional properties of the model, and collaborating with engineers and biologists from ETH Zurich and Novartis AG.
