Postdoc position in experimental physics: The CIEMAT Neutrino Group at the Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT) in Madrid, Spain, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in experimental neutrino physics. The successful candidate will work at the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) as part of the Low Energy Neutrinos in DUNE project (CNS2023-144183). This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in particle physics, with a focus on the operation and data analysis of ProtoDUNE, as well as physical sensitivity studies for the DUNE remote detector.

Post-doc position in neutrino experimental physics

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research area:
Experimental neutrino physics with a focus on the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) and related studies on low-energy neutrinos.

Location:
CIEMAT, Madrid, Spain

Eligibility/Qualification:

• Ph.D. in experimental particle physics.
• Experience with neutrino detectors or low-background physics is highly desirable.

Job description:
The selected postdoctoral fellow will be an integral part of the CIEMAT Neutrino Group, which has extensive experience in reactor neutrino experiments and is actively involved in the DUNE and SBND experiments at Fermilab as well as the ProtoDUNE program on the CERN Neutrino Platform. The group is responsible for the photon detection system, including characterization, installation, operation of photosensors, data analysis and simulations. The researcher will mainly work on the following topics:

• Operation and data analysis of ProtoDUNE.
• Physical sensitivity studies for the DUNE remote detector.
• Contribution to the study of solar and supernova neutrinos within the DUNE project.
