Postdoctoral Fellow – Neurodegenerative Diseases

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research area: Neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer’s disease

Location: St Lucia, Brisbane, Queensland

Eligibility/Qualification:

• Promotion in Molecular biology and cell biology or a related biological discipline (or almost finished)
• Experience with cell lines, primary neuronal cultures and animal experiments
• Evidence of publications in renowned peer-reviewed journals
• Knowledge of molecular biology and biochemical techniques
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Experience with advanced imaging techniques is desirable

Job description:
The successful candidate will work with Dr Pranesh Padmanabhan in the School of Biomedical Sciences and the Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Centre to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease. Responsibilities will include conducting research, analysing data, co-supervising students and assisting with grant applications. The position will provide access to state-of-the-art microscopy, animal testing and computational facilities.
