Postdoctoral Fellow in Stem Cell: The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine (reNEW) at the University of Copenhagen is seeking post-doctoral fellows to join the Brickman group. These positions will investigate enhancer regulation in response to FGF/ERK signaling to understand how transcription factors interface with signaling to regulate cell fate in early development. The start date is September 1st or upon agreement.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Developmental Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or Bioinformatics.
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing technologies (e.g., ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, single-cell RNA-seq).
  • Proficiency in computational analysis of sequencing datasets.
  • Experience with embryonic stem cell culture.
  • Skills in proteomics or phosphoproteomics.
  • Competence in molecular biology techniques (e.g., western blots, RT-PCR).
  • Strong English communication skills (oral and written).

Job Description:

The postdoctoral positions will focus on the regulation and function of enhancers, their interaction with signaling pathways, and their role in cell cycle influence. As a post doc in the Brickman lab, you will:

  • Conduct research on enhancer activity in early development and differentiation using state-of-the-art genomic and proteomic technologies.
  • Develop new approaches to identify enhancer-specific co-factors involved in signaling responses.
  • Define regulatory networks and signaling responses.
  • Optimize molecular and biochemical approaches for single locus and single molecule functional assays.
  • Be encouraged to apply for independent research fellowships.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement advanced genomic and proteomic technologies to study enhancer activity.
  • Develop methods to identify co-factors involved in enhancer-specific signaling responses.
  • Define regulatory networks and responses to signaling.
  • Optimize new molecular and biochemical techniques for functional assays.
  • Write and apply for independent research fellowships.

Terms of Employment:

  • Fixed-term position limited to 3 years, starting September 1, 2024, or upon agreement.
  • Average working hours: 37 hours per week.
  • Salary, pension, and other conditions of employment as per the agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) or other relevant organization.
  • Additional 17.1% employer contribution to the pension fund.
  • Potential eligibility for tax reductions for foreign and Danish applicants who hold a PhD and have not lived in Denmark in the past 10 years.
