Postdoctoral Fellow in Biomedical Research: The University of Tampere and Tampere University of Applied Sciences are looking for two dedicated and qualified postdoctoral researchers specializing in soft materials. The positions are for the Sustainable Biomedical and Toxicological Research (SUSBIO) project and are limited to three years. The candidates will contribute to the development of soft materials and experimental sustainable research methods for biomedical and toxicological studies.

Postdoctoral fellow at the interface between soft matter and biomedical research

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research area: Research on soft materials within the project “Sustainable Biomedical and Toxicological Research” (SUSBIO).

Location: University of Tampere, Finland

Eligibility/Qualification:

• Applicable doctoral degree in Materials science, chemistry, cell biology or molecular biology related to soft materials.
• Proven skills in supervising M.Sc. and Ph.D. students are an advantage.
• Competence to fulfill the responsibilities set out in the laboratory and ethical guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (both written and spoken) are essential.

Job description:

• Develop soft materials and sustainable research methods for biomedical and toxicological studies.
• A collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology (MET) and the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (ENS) is expected.
• Identify and pursue research topics that align with the key areas of the SUSBIO project.
• Conduct data analysis, write publications and research reports, and apply for grants.
• Collaborate with research colleagues, support staff and external networks.
• Supervise and support students and participate in relevant teaching activities.
• Attend scientific conferences.
