In this role, the molecular mechanisms of antibiotics based on antisense peptide nucleic acids (PNA) will be investigated to understand their binding rules and effects on mRNA functions. Postdoctoral researcher (f/m/d) for RNA-based antibiotics Designation:Postdoc (f/m/d) Research area:Research is conducted in the field of RNA-based antibiotics, with a focus on antisense peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) and their interaction with nucleic acids. Location:The position is based at the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI) in Würzburg. The successful applicant will also have to travel regularly between Würzburg and Strasbourg. Eligibility/Qualification: Successfully completed university or master’s degree in natural sciences. Promotion in Molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field of life sciences. Experience in analyzing RNA structures or working with microbial cultures is desirable. Interest in data science is an advantage. Very good communication skills with good English skills. Ability to work independently and cooperatively in an international environment. Enthusiastic about a dynamic working environment with high scientific standards. Willingness to travel regularly between France and Germany. Extensive publication list appropriate to career level. Job description: Responsible for the content of the research tasks. Planning and conducting experiments. Creation and publication of scientific papers. Presentation of research results at national and international conferences. Supervision of research assistants, doctoral candidates and students.
