Postdoctoral fellow at Earlham Institute: The Earlham Institute is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the lab of Dr. Sarah Guiziou and the Engineering Biology Consortium. This is an exciting opportunity to help develop a new group and research project focused on the engineering of plant-beneficial rhizobacteria.

Development of plant-beneficial rhizobacteria and interaction between plants and microbes.

Location: Norwich, United Kingdom

Eligibility/Qualification:

• A PhD in Molecular biology, microbiology, bioengineering or a related subject.
• Expertise or strong interest in developing synthetic biology tools for the engineering of rhizobacteria and plant-microbe interactions.
• Knowledge and understanding of synthetic biology approaches.
• Experience in microbiology, molecular biology techniques and the plant microbiome is essential.

Job description:
The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for developing synthetic biology tools for plant-beneficial rhizobacteria, including integrase tools and imaging tools, and for engineering plant-microbe interactions using integrase switches. The role requires expertise in the plant microbiome with experience in molecular biology techniques or expertise in synthetic biology of plants or microbes. The postholder will receive training in synthetic biology, microbiology, microscopy, flow cytometry and data analysis as required. The ideal candidate will actively contribute to the project, supervise students and contribute their expertise and ideas to the research.
