PhD in Earth Sciences, Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science with experience in X-ray diffraction/spectroscopy from reputable institutes with good publication records. Candidates who have submitted their dissertation are equally eligible.

Job description-

Postdoc position in high pressure mineral physics

A one-year postdoctoral position with Dr. Rajkrishna Dutta in the Department of Earth Sciences is available, with the possibility of extension depending on the candidate’s performance in the first year. The candidate is expected to conduct research in experimental high pressure mineral physics.

Job description: The candidate will work on experimental and theoretical high pressure mineralogy. Experience with calculations based on density functional theory is required. The candidate will also work on diamond anvil cell experiments. Knowledge of DAC experiments is desirable but not mandatory. Projects will involve the synthesis of silicate minerals and conducting experiments at various synchrotron and laboratory facilities around the world.

Remuneration: 60,000 INR consolidated.
