Postdoctoral Fellow – Technical Root Development

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research area: Plant biology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, single cell sequencing, root architecture, sustainable agriculture

Location: Norwich, United Kingdom

Authorization/Qualification:

  • PhD/DPhil in Biology, bioengineering or biochemistry
  • Experience in plant development and molecular biology
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work productively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Interest in synthetic biology (previous experience not necessarily required)

Job description:

  • Elucidation of lateral root development with high resolution using integrase-based trackers
  • Development of root architecture via cell fate-specific integrase switches
  • Training in synthetic biology, plant biology and single cell sequencing
  • Supervision of technicians and doctoral students
  • Access to core competency training and all academic facilities at Earlham Institute
