Research area:
The successful candidate will work on the development of microporous polymers for the separation of fluid mixtures, with a focus on characterizing the structural and dynamic properties of confined fluids, translating molecular results to the macroscopic level, and using realistic models of mixtures in microporous polymers.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Physics, statistical mechanics, physical chemistry or materials science.
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in scientific programming and molecular simulations.

Job description:
The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in:

  • Development of realistic models of mixtures in microporous polymers using molecular simulations.
  • Characterization of the structural and dynamic properties of trapped liquids and their interactions with polymer surfaces.
  • Transferring molecular results to the macroscopic level using a network-based approach.
  • Using the network model to predict the macroscopic permeability and selectivity of PIM membranes.
