Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research area:
The research will focus on exploring biological processes central to the biology of aging, particularly in areas such as proteostasis and stem cell function. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in projects related to proteostasis and stem cell function and contribute to the broader goals of the Vilchez Lab.

Location:
University Hospital Cologne, especially in the Vilchez Lab at CECAD.

Eligibility/Qualification:

• A Ph.D. in Biology, biochemistry or a related field.
• Enthusiasm and high motivation for aging research.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Fluent written and spoken German is an advantage but not a requirement.
• Experience in stem cell research or with C. elegans models is an advantage but not mandatory.

Job description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting scientific research in the specified areas, supporting other projects in the laboratory, and completing administrative tasks of the laboratory, such as assisting with recruitment, database management, and safety compliance. In addition, the candidate will supervise Master’s students during their internships.
