Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Biology, Soft Matter Physics, or related field
  • Strong interest in Biology/Biochemistry
  • Independent work capability and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in scientific English (minimum level B1)
  • French language skills are not required

Job Description: The successful candidate will join a collaborative project to explore how actin regulatory proteins influence the architecture and dynamics of actin networks. This role involves:

  • Participating in project design
  • Developing and utilizing new methodologies
  • Conducting and quantitatively analyzing experiments
  • Modeling data
  • Communicating results
  • Writing reports and research articles

The researcher will employ a variety of techniques, including fluorescence microscopy, microfluidics, optical tweezers, and micropatterning to manipulate and study fluorescent filaments.

Work Context: The Institut Jacques Monod (IJM) is a premier research center for fundamental biology in Paris, housed in an 8,000-square-meter facility on the Université Paris Cité campus. The IJM hosts around thirty research groups specializing in cell and developmental biology, biophysics, and genomics, providing a vibrant and multidisciplinary research environment. The postdoctoral researcher will have access to cutting-edge equipment, including photonic microscopy, electron microscopy, and flow cytometry platforms.
