About – IIT KANPUR invites applications for the position as Project Scientist -1 in the project “Center for Rechargeable Energy Storage Systems to Improve Transportation and Electrification”

Research/Work Area- Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Physiology or a relevant field

Location- IIT Kanpur

Authorization/Qualification–

Required qualifications:

Ph.D. in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Physiology or a relevant field,

or M. Tech/M. Sc with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Technical skills:

• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
• Biomedical instruments
• Collection and handling of human blood
• Biochemical tests including spectrophotometry, ELISA and fluorescence etc.
• Biocompatibility, biosafety and toxicology testing on medical devices
• In vitro experiments

Desirable skills:

• B. Sc. with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Biomaterials engineering
• Animal handling and preclinical testing protocols
• Knowledge of biostatistics and bioinformatics tools

We are looking for a talented individual with the relevant background to join the multidisciplinary Hridyantra team at IIT Kanpur for a groundbreaking project to develop a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) – a revolutionary heart assist blood pump.

Position: Project Scientist

Salary range: 31600 – 2600 – 78400

about the project

Mission Hridyantra is pioneering the development of a cutting-edge LVAD with the ultimate goal of bringing it to market after successful animal and clinical trials. As a team member, you will play a pivotal role in conducting in vitro testing in a hemolysis loop leading to animal testing, working with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

Tasks:

• Work closely with the team to develop a biocompatible surface for the LVAD.
• Behavior in vitro Tests with human blood.
• Development of simulated circuit loops for use in various test setups.
• Contribute to LVAD development by actively engaging in the manufacturing team.
• Participation in interdisciplinary tasks related to the LVAD.
• Next, plan animal testing.
