Eligibility/Qualification:

  • An outstanding MSc in natural sciences, preferably in Microbiology, Molecular Microbiology, Microbial Ecology, Biotechnology or a related field
  • Extensive experience in microbial ecology, microbiology, metabolomics or molecular microbiology
  • A solid theoretical background, although the project will mainly involve experimental work
  • Exceptional organizational skills and detail-oriented work style
  • Personal motivation and the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Job description:
The successful candidate will undertake in-depth research in one of the two available projects. Responsibilities will include planning and conducting experiments, analysing and interpreting the data collected, contributing to teaching assignments, writing publications and presenting work at meetings and conferences. The focus of the project can be tailored to the interests of the candidate and the position offers the opportunity for independent research after an initial training period.
