The Ministry of Defence (MoD) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE) has decided to launch the Veer Gatha 4.0 project in 2024-2025.

Project Veer Gatha was founded in 2021 by the Gallantry Awards Portal (GAP) with the aim of disseminating details of the gallant acts of the Gallantry Awardees and the life stories of these brave men among the students to instill patriotism and values of citizenship awareness. Project Veer Gatha further deepened this noble goal by providing a platform for school students (students from all schools in India) to come up with creative projects/activities based on the gallantry awardees. As part of this, the students have organized various projects on these gallantry awardees through various media like art, poetry, essays, multimedia and the best projects have been awarded at the national level by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Education. The project has been conducted every year to coincide with the Republic Day celebrations. Veer Gatha has been a huge success with 8 lakhs participating in Veer Gatha 1.0 conducted in 2021-22, 19.5 lakhs participating in Veer Gatha 2.0 conducted in 2022-23 and 1.37 crore participating in Veer Gatha 3.0 conducted in 2023-24.
