We are excited to announce the launch of a new contact editor in Outlook Mobile. This editor is designed to enhance the contact experience on both iOS and Android platforms. This editor allows users to seamlessly add and edit contacts in a compliant manner, replacing the device’s default editor in Outlook Mobile.

We’ve received feedback about compliance issues with the legacy native Android and iOS editors related to managing and enforcing Intune policies for editing contacts in Outlook Mobile. Many users have shared feedback about inconsistent experiences across devices using the legacy editor.

You asked for it, we delivered!

We are excited to hear your feedback and introduce a solution that provides several benefits that will enrich your contact editing experience.

  1. Compliance: Users can now efficiently manage their contacts in Outlook Mobile using the editor, while maintaining compliance with selected Microsoft Intune policies.
  2. unity: Enjoy a consistent contact editing experience across iOS and Android, plus the Outlook.com editor and the new Outlook app for Windows.
  3. Easy to organize: Categories provide an easy and flexible way to categorize your contacts. Think of categories as tags that you can apply to group your contacts into meaningful clusters.

Note: Contacts created via the legacy default editor will continue to be accessible, viewable, and editable on Outlook mobile and web platforms.
