New data sync solution is now supported in forms created from SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams

We’ve been gradually updating Form Data Sync to Excel with a new solution since August, and we’re excited to announce that it’s now fully available for individual forms as well as group forms, regardless of whether they’re created through Forms, SharePoint, or Teams. I think. Created through Forms and OneDrive. Let’s see how it works!

Create form surveys in SharePoint and OneDrive

You can now add a Forms survey to create forms directly in SharePoint or OneDrive and it will automatically use the new data sync solution. For personal forms, you can start with OneDrive. For collaborative forms that engage your team, start with SharePoint to keep everyone informed.

Create a Forms survey in a Teams channel

You can also create forms in Teams channels. There are two ways: You can add a form survey by going to the ‘File’ tab in the tab bar or click the ‘+’ icon to add a form tab.

To create a form, redirect to the form.

Whether you start creating a form in SharePoint, OneDrive, or Teams, you’ll be redirected to Forms to create and send your survey.

Excel file generated accordingly

Once you get enough responses, you can go to the results page and view the data in Excel. If you created the form in OneDrive, an Excel file will be created in OneDrive. For Teams channels or group forms created in SharePoint, the Excel file is created in the corresponding SharePoint file library.

Sync edited responses

The new data synchronization solution also supports synchronizing edited responses. When respondents edit their answers, the changes are updated in the Excel file.

The new data sync solution will begin rolling out in October and will be gradually available to all customers starting next month.
