Today we meet Noorshat, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in Bangladesh. Responses have been edited for clarity and length. When did you join the Student Ambassador community? I joined the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador community in January 2022. What is it like to be a student ambassador? Being a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador has been an incredible experience. It’s been an honor and privilege to represent the world’s largest technology company, and one of my favorite companies to work for. The program has had a significant impact on my career. I have had the opportunity to contribute to social impact projects focused on digital accessibility, healthcare, and education. I have collaborated with Microsoft employees and multinational teams, led workshops that reached global audiences, earned my AI certification through Microsoft Certified exams, and qualified for the “Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub.” Most importantly, it fostered learning and innovation within the technical community and allowed me to interact directly with Microsoft employees, gaining invaluable knowledge and mentorship. Was there a particular experience that had a profound impact on you while you were participating in the program? And why? One of the most profound experiences I had during my program was working on a variety of social impact projects focused on digital accessibility, healthcare, and education. Working with multinational teams from multiple countries allowed me to exchange knowledge with diverse individuals and work effectively in a remote environment. This greatly enriched my understanding and skills. Additionally, by joining the Ambassador Program, I was able to gain valuable exposure to the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, which resulted in my successful onboarding of my personal startup app, Health AI: A Personal Healthcare Companion, onto the platform. Tell me about the skills you gained as a student ambassador. How did these skills help you in your journey after graduating from college? While working as a Student Ambassador at Microsoft, I had the opportunity to develop valuable skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI). I participated in several AI workshops and obtained Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals Certification. I also applied my AI skills in a practical way through the Social Impact Project, where I worked on real-world AI applications. Participating in the Microsoft Imagine Cup further deepened my experience with Azure AI and opened doors to additional opportunities in this field. I also successfully onboarded my personal startup app, Health AI: A Personal Healthcare Companion, to Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub. This achievement gave me access to $1,000 in Azure credits, $2,500 in OpenAI credits, and a variety of valuable technical benefits and business resources that greatly enhanced the potential of my startup. As a result of this experience, I was given the opportunity to join Sense & Respond Software LLC, a remote company in the US, as an AI developer. In this role, I develop AI components for various projects and research generative AI tools, large-scale language models (LLMs), and natural language processing techniques. What would you like to tell students around the world about the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program? The Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program provides an innovative opportunity for students to interact with leading technology companies. Participating in this program can be a game changer and provides valuable experience that paves the way for future success. I highly encourage every student to apply and take advantage of this incredible opportunity. What advice would you give to new student ambassadors just starting out in the program? My advice to a new student ambassador just starting out is to be passionate about your work. The opportunities available to you are endless. If you focus and dedicate yourself to what you love, everything will eventually come together to lead you to your goal. Share your favorite quote! It could be from a movie, a song, a book, or someone you know personally. Let us know why you chose it. What does it mean to you? A quote that changed my life is from the poet Mario Quintana: “Don’t waste your time chasing butterflies. Plant a garden and the butterflies will come to you.” People often become obsessed with pursuing money, success, and relationships at a young age, sometimes without a clear purpose and ultimately feeling dissatisfied. I have learned from my own experience that the key to true contentment is to stop chasing external achievements and instead follow your passions, do what you love, and focus on your personal development. When you invest in yourself and nurture your own growth, the universe aligns in your favor and gives you everything you desire. Tell us some interesting stories about yourself and your travels. Becoming a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. It has provided me with valuable exposure at an early stage, laying the foundation for my future career. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity Microsoft has provided me.
