Meet a recent Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador graduate Hrittik Roy by info.odysseyx@gmail.com August 30, 2024 written by info.odysseyx@gmail.com August 30, 2024 0 comment 8 views 8 This is the next segment in a blog series highlighting Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors who have achieved the Gold milestone, the highest level they can achieve, and have recently graduated from college. Each blog in this series will feature a different student and highlight their accomplishments, their experiences in the Student Ambassador community, and what they have been up to. Today we meet Hrittik, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from JIS University, India. Responses have been edited for clarity and length. When did you join the Student Ambassador community? I joined the Student Ambassadors Community to have a support network where I can help others and be helped by others. I wanted to use cloud credits to deepen my knowledge of Azure and Kubernetes, and I wanted to meet like-minded people who were passionate about technology, and that’s what I did.😊 What is it like to be a student ambassador? Being a student ambassador has been an amazing experience. I have become the go-to person on campus, and people have come to me for help with events, cloud projects, and guidance on becoming an MLSA. I have enjoyed mentoring others, cherished the interactions, and learned a lot from the numerous calls with both peers and professionals. Was there a particular experience that had a profound impact on you while you were participating in the program? And why? One of the most profound experiences I had in the program was networking with cloud advocates and MVPs. Collaborating on events with MVPs gave me the confidence to dive deeper into cloud experimentation, which ultimately led me to pursue a career as a DevRel in the cloud native ecosystem. Through this mini-tour, I traveled to 10 countries as a student, giving lectures and sharing my knowledge. I got to see the Northern Lights while attending an academic conference this January. Tell me about the skills you gained as a student ambassador. How did these skills help you in your journey after graduating from college? During my time as a student ambassador, I focused on cloud and cloud-based technologies. I earned numerous certifications, including CKA and Azure-related certifications, which furthered my expertise. Writing hundreds of articles and helping people solve real-world problems deepened my understanding and became a resource for others. These skills were invaluable in my post-graduate journey, allowing me to solve complex problems and continue to contribute to the technology community. One thing I want to tell all students about the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program is that cloud credit is an incredible resource. It allows you to experiment, learn, and explore without the barrier of having to have a credit card. I have learned a lot through this opportunity and I encourage you to take advantage of it as much as you can! What advice would you give to new student ambassadors just starting out in the program? My advice to new student ambassadors is to connect with others and collaborate on projects that educate and uplift the community. Experiment and build proofs of concept to make the most of your Azure credits. And don’t forget to document your journey. Sharing your insights will help both you and those who follow in your footsteps. Share your favorite quote! It could be from a movie, a song, a book, or someone you know personally. Let us know why you chose it. What does it mean to you? “We suffer more in imagination than in reality.” This means do it, and if it is meant to be, it will be so. 😊 Tell us some interesting stories about yourself and your travels. When I started out, there was no tech community at my university. I took the initiative to build a community from scratch and introduce people to new technologies and opportunities. Today, that community has grown into a thriving ecosystem that continues to thrive without me. I am very proud of that! Last year I overcame a painful visa rejection to attend a European event for the first time.
