Medical Assistant, G4 – Qatar by info.odysseyx@gmail.com August 14, 2024 written by info.odysseyx@gmail.com August 14, 2024 0 comment 3 views 3 Under the overall supervision of the Chief Migration Health Officer (CMHO) and the direct supervision of the Data Reporting Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties and responsibilities in relation to the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) at CAS, Doha, Qatar: RESPONSIBILITIES The medical assistant provides migrants with relevant information about health assessment programs, application processing and other IOM services. He/she can be assigned to one of two possible sub-units of the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC): the Reception and Data Processing Unit or the Call Centre. The job holder must be flexible in assigning different tasks. Below is a description of the possible tasks, which are described in more detail in the task lists and standard operating procedures (SOPS). General tasks of the call center: Inform migrants about health assessments by telephone. Register migrants in the IOM database, arrange and confirm medical appointments, and receive and communicate messages for medical personnel and beneficiaries. Prepare master lists of migrants requiring health assessment and communicate them to relevant service providers/relevant persons as required. Maintain daily health assessment statistics and update records. Contribute to the management of customer satisfaction evaluation. General reception and data entry tasks: Carry out all required data processing activities of the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC), such as: Receiving and explaining the registration process to applicants. Verification of the applicant’s identity. Entering the applicants’ biographical data into the relevant platform. Taking photos with a webcam and uploading the images to the relevant platform; and Printing medical forms, consent forms and other necessary documents. Receive all completed medical examination forms, x-rays and other documents from the country offices or contracted physicians while updating the receipt of the same in the database and forwarding them for quality control if necessary before release. Prepare, sort and package medical records and other documents during mobile migration health assessment missions, where appropriate mobile units are available. Deliver completed medical forms, DNA packages and other medical documents to the various partners either electronically or by courier. When sending documents by courier, ensure that the correct contact details and postal addresses are used and communicate the package tracking number electronically to the recipient. Filing incoming/outgoing letters, reports, memos, emails and faxes, as well as IOM documents and forms related to IOM medical matters. Review, print, and make photocopies of bank deposit slips (or other payment receipts). Submit these photocopies to the Administrative/Financial Assistant on a regular basis. Perform any other tasks assigned to you. QUALIFICATIONS Training University degree with at least two years of relevant professional experience. OR Secondary school diploma with at least four years of relevant professional experience. A certificate in IT/data entry is an advantage. Accredited universities are those that are in the UNESCO database on global higher education. Experience Experience in computer-based data entry, processing and analysis or in a call center setting in a busy facility, preferably a medical one. Knowledge of customer service. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in secretarial and archival work are an advantage; and Previous work experience with NGOs or international organizations is an advantage. skills Leadership qualities (desirable); Excellent communication skills; Fast and accurate typing; Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute; Knowledge of data management principles; Good computer skills in Windows and MS Office are essential; knowledge of website design would be an advantage. Languages Fluency in English is required and knowledge of the language of the country in which the job holder will be working is an advantage. Fluency in English (oral and written) is required for all applicants. Good knowledge of Arabic is an advantage. The official languages of the IOM are English, French and Spanish. The required language skills will be specifically assessed during the selection procedure, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
