These updates are designed to reduce customer confusion and improve the overall quota management experience. What changes? New vCore-based limits: that The new limits are based on vCores per subscription per region, which directly equates to DTUs and DWUs. Default Logical Server Limits: All new and existing subscriptions will now be capped at 250 logical servers. Previous limits on logical server DTUs have been discontinued. Configurable vCore limits: Customers now have the convenience of easily changing their subscription limits through the Support section of the Azure Portal, with approvals typically processed within minutes. A new portal experience: Below is an example of the new portal experience where customers can view their existing limits and current vCore usage, and request higher limits. Existing limitations: Subscriptions approved for limits exceeding the default settings of the legacy system will be seamlessly transitioned to the new system without any changes to approved limits. For customers with previously approved quotas, the limits will be carried over to the new system. Are the same quotas applied to serverless DBs? yes. Currently, quotas are determined based on overall usage, which means that serverless usage is considered in the same way as provisioned usage.
