THE ROLE The HR Director provides strategic leadership in the design, development, implementation and management of HR strategies. The Director plays a critical role in shaping the future of HALO and ensuring HR processes contribute to overall success. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, leadership skills and effective communication. RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic leadership Develop and implement an HR strategy that is aligned with corporate goals Participation in the development and implementation of the organization’s business plan Human resources management and development Monitor recruitment, onboarding and talent management processes Developing and implementing performance management and appraisal systems Promote a positive and stimulating work environment Ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations Operational Excellence Manage HR operations including payroll, benefits and HRIS Providing HR consulting services to employees and managers Monitor HR data analysis and reporting Governance and Compliance Ensuring compliance with HR policies, procedures and legal requirements Support the Board of Trustees in personnel matters Additional responsibilities Travel to international locations as required Act as duty officer REQUIREMENTS Degree in Human Resources Management/CIPD/SHRM or related field (or proven professional experience in a similar senior role). Extensive experience in human resources management Proven experience in leading and implementing HR strategies at an organizational level. Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in international work, preferably in the humanitarian and international development sector.
