THE ROLE

The HR Director provides strategic leadership in the design, development, implementation and management of HR strategies. The Director plays a critical role in shaping the future of HALO and ensuring HR processes contribute to overall success. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, leadership skills and effective communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic leadership

  • Develop and implement an HR strategy that is aligned with corporate goals
  • Participation in the development and implementation of the organization’s business plan

Human resources management and development

  • Monitor recruitment, onboarding and talent management processes
  • Developing and implementing performance management and appraisal systems
  • Promote a positive and stimulating work environment
  • Ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations

Operational Excellence

  • Manage HR operations including payroll, benefits and HRIS
  • Providing HR consulting services to employees and managers
  • Monitor HR data analysis and reporting

Governance and Compliance

  • Ensuring compliance with HR policies, procedures and legal requirements
  • Support the Board of Trustees in personnel matters

Additional responsibilities

  • Travel to international locations as required
  • Act as duty officer

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Human Resources Management/CIPD/SHRM or related field (or proven professional experience in a similar senior role).
  • Extensive experience in human resources management
  • Proven experience in leading and implementing HR strategies at an organizational level.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in international work, preferably in the humanitarian and international development sector.
  • ​​​​​​​Understanding and interest in the humanitarian and international development sector
